Can't Stop. Won't Stop.

I dont really know what to write about this week to It went by so quick.

We went to Canton on exchanges. Sister De Graff and I sang to a sweet old woman.

We also went to Peoria and Sister Reynolds and I tracted probably the richest neighborhood in Peoria. It was a little intimidating... But I felt like a princess walking up to those doors. And we got to share Light the World with someone so yay!

Sister Winkelman and I taught our recent convert April's son! His name is Dionte and he is super cool. He is 11 and when we asked him to be baptized he said "sure!". He lives in the Elders area so we won't get to finish teaching him, but I'm excited for them!

We didn't get to teach Roberta again this week... But we've kept in contact and she's been listening to a lot of general conference talks and getting her questions answered. I am excited to meet with her on Tuesday. We tried calling her husband to see what he thought of us meeting with their family but he said he was busy and never called us back... hopefully we can get him on board!

Love you all!

Work Hard. Play Hard.

Hi there!

I'm still here in Illinois!

This week we went on exchanges with the Pontiac sisters and the Peoria sisters it was super fun.

Sister Fugal served in Freeport for a little while too and is just super sweet. We had lots of fun together.

Sister Orchard and I went crazy and had plans to do like 5 things but they all fell through.  But then we ended up getting a new investigator!  Debby!  And we taught 4 lessons.  It was nuts.

I also got to go back to Bourbonnais for Donna's baptism!  She was baptized a long time ago but later in life had her records removed and she joined the Catholic church. She had a lot of change in her life and health problems. She was in the hospital and brother  Jackson asked the sisters to stop by. After that she accepted our invitation to take the missionary discussions again! It took some time but after a lesson in Relief Society taught by Sister Gray (MVP) and her companion  she decided to get baptized. She told me that it really wasn't anything that anyone did or said that changed her mind she just had an overwhelming feeling that she knew that this is the true church. I really liked that. Just a witness to me of the power of the spirit.

Sister Wahl drove us and that was sweet because it was the anniversary of her baptism many years ago.

Church is true! The Book is Blue!

Praise the Lord!

Sister Winkelman and I are still having a blast down here in Washington!

We had another lesson with Roberta. Her husband Jim didnt join us this time. She really felt the spirit this time and it was a good lesson. We brought the Bishops wife, Sister Mehr and she was able to help her with a lot of her concerns. She said that she first started meeting with us and reading the Book of Mormon to prove it wrong. "But that's not what's happening!" Love her.

Besides that as of finding we had a few rough contacts. I think only 3 or 4 actually straight up told me I was worshiping the devil.... There was one man in particular that had gotten deep into some anti material. It was hard. But right after that sister winkelman and I got a phone call from a former investigator we had called the week before and said she actually WOULD be interested in doing some family history! She also talked about how she had a really good experience at the Nauvoo temple open house.

We also talked to a man named John who had also gone to the Nauvoo temple open house. He straight up told us he didn't believe Joseph Smith was a prophet but he told us about the peace that just overcame him in the celestial room.

Church is true.

1.sister winkelman and I actually found a mountain? In Illinois?

BOO-k of Mormon

Well Friends, Another week has come and gone.

We weren't able to meet with Roberta this week. And since shes our only investigator we spent our whole week finding.

I hate to admit it but i lost my motivation for about 2 seconds there. It's been non stop finding for a long time now. But I am so grateful for my companion  and for the Book of Mormon! Not sure what I would do with out my personal study.

We needed some motivation, it was dark and cold and no one was out so we knelt down and said a prayer right there on the street. We handed out 3 Book of Mormons after that! We haven't stayed in contact with any of them but we are Planting seeds!

We met a super cool guy named Ray who had a seed planted in him a long time ago. We met him as we were walking out of CVS. He said he got a Book of Mormon 5 years ago from a hotel and has wanted to learn more about it but hasn't known how! Well Sir, we can help you with that! Well, the Elders will. Because he lives just outside of our area.

We also had stake conference! I've been to stake conference 5 times on my mission now. This one was good though. It was all about missionary work! And we actually had 2 members contact us afterwards!

I hope you all had as good of a week as I have!

Love,
Sister Corbett
