Expect a Miracle

Hello, Hello, Hello!

Well I am loving it down here in Morton with sister winkelman! She is defiantly a big belssing.

The ward here is AWESOME and super missionary minded!

We had a couple miracles this week.

We were stopping by a former and we came across the sisters old investigator Betty who is still investigating and is on date to be baptized but is now living in Peoria. She was working on this formers house and we got to talk with her and share a thought and it was PERFECT timing. If we had gotten there earlier she wouldnt have been their yet. And if we got there any later she would have been in the middle of her project and not able to talk!

We also are teaching an amazing woman named Roberta and now her husband Jim too! She used to live in Idaho and has family that is Mormon and anti-mormon so she has a lot of questions. She is just so open and golden! We had an amazing lessons with their family in a members home. The spirit was so strong and the two families connected so well and it was so great.

I love Being a missionary.

I love sister winkelman. I am glad we can be companions again. I love all my companions  and they are truly the biggest miracle of my mission. ðŸ’•

Bye Huntley

Well friends. The Hunt is cover in Huntley and I'm going down to the land of Pumpkins! Morton! I've wanted to serve in the Peoria Stake /Morton for  a super long time so I am real excited! Sad my time is over here with Sister Young in Huntley though.

We had a good week. Super busy. Can't even remember what happened. Life is a blur.

We went to Sycamore and helped put together the Sisters apartment in Sycamore after they got emergency transferred out of Monmouth.

We went finding In Rockford/Belvedire with the Hermanas! They are such good missionaries.

We contacted a really mean lady on Thursday. She was super nice but when we told her she was Mormon she completely shut down... don't believe everything you read online friends.

We got to meet with Hairy Steve again! I am going to miss teaching him a lot. His wife isn't open to him really meeting with us or coming to church and he felt stuck so we taught him about fasting and he was going to fast on sundayblike we invited him to but he called us the next morning and told us he would fast that day. He has a lot of faith and is just a really nice big hippy. Sad to leave him but hopefully he will get baptized and I can come back.

I love you all so much!

This week I really reflected on Faith and the sacrament and read the coolest thing in Jesus the Christ (5☆ Book).

"To eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ was and is to believe in and accept Him as the literal Son of God and Savior of the world, and to obey His commandments. By these means only may the Spirit of God become an abiding part of man’s individual being, even as the substance of the food he eats is assimilated with the tissues of his body.

The sacrament of the Lord’s supper, established by the Savior on the night of His betrayal, perpetuates the symbolism of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, by the partaking of bread and wine in remembrance of Him. Acceptance of Jesus as the Christ implies obedience to the laws and ordinances of His gospel; for to profess the One and refuse the other is but to convict ourselves of inconsistency, insincerity, and hypocrisy"

OH AND THE BEST PART ABOUT ME GOING TO MORTON IS THAT SISTER WINKELMAN AND I ARE GOING TO BE REUNITED.

House of the lord

Hello Family and Friends!

This week was awesome. It felt like it was only one minute long. Time goes by so fast.

Steve with the Beard is progressing! Kind of. He came to Book of Mormon class but wouldn't come to church. But we met with him and addressed his concerns about church and taught him the Plan of Salvation and he told us that he feels God is in our presence as we meet. He's a cool guy.

We also got back in contact with Alan! (Shout out to Sister Epps for giving him a Book of Mormon with her family's testimony in it!) He told us he was coming to conference but didn't. But we were able to meet with him this week and talk about prayer and faith and how God is our Father. We are taking things slow with him but it is cool to see him progress in that he is now making an effort to pray where before that would be completely out of the question.

We also started teaching a man named Keith! Hermana Ward and I met him on exchanges and he texted us back and said he had been reading the Book of Mormon and he wanted to talk more! So we came and we were able to walk around the block with him and talked about the Book of Mormon and why it's so amazing. He said he is interested in learning more and asked us what the next step would be! Pretty cool.

Missionary work is awesome.

Also, I'm emailing today because we got to go to the temple. After not going for a year it was a really special experience. I love the temple and I am grateful for the direction and prospective it brings. I definitely needed this temple trip. We go in a lot of different houses on missions and it's a lot different to go into the house of the lord.

The church is true!

Love,
Sister Corbett

1.Chelsea is Moving to Utah and it's really sad. But I guess maybe I'll go back to Utah one day so it's okay.

2. We went on exchanges to Belvedire and it was AWESOME. And reminded me a little of Freeport and Sister Morales and I made some super yummy sandwiches.

"What a Message"

Another Busy week!

We have been teaching a man named Allen and he said he would come to conference but didn't.

We also got to meet with the Steve with a Big Beard again. He has been reading everything we leave with him and really likes the peace that comes from the Book of Mormon.

General Conference was amazing as always!

1. At first I thought it was just my missionary Brain, but was we got closer to this truck was actually inviting us to repent!

2. Illinois skies.

3.Exchanges with the Elgin 1st ward sisters. Their investigator Mira got baptized this week. She's so cute. After General Conference all she could say was "What a Message..."
